Season Binder Template
Use this to compile the technical binder (requirements-first).
Requirements (why)
- Numbered requirements with rule/strategy citations.
Subsystems (how)
- For each: spec table (ratios, speeds, materials), drawings/CAD links, sensors, controls.
Testing and performance
- Tuning data, logs/plots, pass/fail vs. requirements.
Failure modes and fixes
- Common issues and how we mitigated them.
Photos/diagrams
- Annotated visuals for inspection and awards.
Instructions (numbered)
- Start with requirements and rule/strategy citations.
- For each subsystem: add spec table, drawings/CAD links, sensors/controls, rationale.
- Include test data, tuning plots, and pass/fail vs requirements.
- Document failure modes and fixes; link to logs.
- Add annotated photos/diagrams for clarity (inspection/awards).
Best practices
- Keep it concise and requirements-first; avoid marketing fluff.
- Use tables for specs and tests; link to sources (code/CAD/logs).
- Update binder as design changes; freeze before events.
Common mistakes
- Specs without units; missing links; no tie to requirements.
- Omitting failures/fixes.
Checklist
